Got a new truck - Page 2 Empty Re: Got a new truck

Post  schmitty September 13th 2011, 9:33 pm

It has the 3.31's in it, and I doubt that there could be a better set from what I've seen so far. This truck pulls like a frieght train and is still doing really well as far as MPG. When we went to Sturgis, a buddy towed a camper up there with it, and I think it was doing like 12-13MPG. I've hauled some pretty heavy loads of hay, and pulled the mud truck to a few distant tracks, and it seems to be about 13MPG doing that. Normal every day driving is upper teens, and I think if I kept my foot out of it, 20 would be possible. Cool

Nice Truck Rob I'm so Jelly Razz Cool

Tracy has the X Plan via Wells Fargo and it saved us a bundle in the past however we haven't used it since 2005. Don't plan on using it either unless I can pay Cash or a substntial down payment Idea

What is the X plan?

I am thinking about getting rid of my 2006 f350, was going to get a dodge with all the trouble i had out of this thing. Unless you think this new motor will be better than the junk they have been making

The X plan is a ford discount towards the purchases of a new truck or car.

Ford did not make the junk 6.0, the all-new 6.7 is all ford from top to bottom!! Also I haven't heard about the 80,000.00 mile problem.

It's hard to believe somebody has that many miles on one already. Damn truck just came out LOL!!

I deal with this engines everyday.
I have seen some injector issues.
Cab does not have to come off to change injectors, engine yes.
Then again Dodge and Chevy have the same issue. It's not our fault, it's a supplier. Stuff happens, things fail. From what I have seen, the injector will stick open and pretty much F-stuff up!. There is no set milage when this could happen, it doesn't happen all the time.. But stuff happens...

Some of our test engines, trucks also are all-ready well over 500K!~!!

Yeah, but you have to pour in the piss along with it!

Has anybody successfully created a DPF, DEF, EGR delete for these 6.7 trucks yet? My 6.4 should be on it's way to a new owner in a few weeks. I'll be driving my old 7.3 again but would definitely entertain buying a used 6.7 in a year or so if there was/is a way around all of the unnecessary (to me) emissions crap.

My 6.4 pulls like a freight train bone stock. It's a beast but I absolutely loathe the DPF bull@#$%!!! Talk about GULP fuel when it regens while pulling a load!!!!!!!!!!!! I just don't get the fact that a "clean" diesel engine burns more fuel (plus DEF) than a "dirty" diesel to get the same amount of work accomplished.... Where's the "green" in that?

Give me some good news Adam. Who makes a full DPF, DEF, EGR delete system for the 6.7?

Did I mention the DPF sucks?

I know. It adds to the overall cost of operating the truck. Everything I've read about the 6.7 points to it being a grandslam for Ford's engineering team.

I would do the delete thing on my 6.4 and be happy, but my current circumstances won't allow that...

Other than all the coolant leak issues the DPF is the biggest killer of 6.4's.

Cab off aint no big deal, its a very common practice nowadays.

Coolant leaks from where?

If this guy backs out of buying my truck I'm dropping about $1500 on a programmer and turbo back exhaust. This thing regens every other day due to the short ass commute to and from work.

All that's been changed on mine already. Some of it TWICE!!!

I absolutely love the truck! It's still tight after 120,000+ miles. The tow mode is the cats ass along with the trailer controller. Stereo jams too!

The 08 350 super duty is a super nice truck it is fully load model only thing I don't like about is the leather seats to HARD on the tail on long rides the 6.4 in it has had it in the shop alot they said they was tired of spending money on it told me to park it and pull it out of service.
