At that weight and ET:
aftermarket input shaft
steel clutch hub
dual ring servo
good race rebuild kit
transbrake of your choice
locking dipstick
make sure stock front pump is good with a few fluid flow mods and new gears
a stock 1.76 planetary will live for a while if you don't hit it too hard on the line
optional, but recommended:
1.80 straight cut planetary because the stock one will break sooner or later. It might last 50 passes or 500. Don't waste you time with a 1.76 helical "super set" (aftermarket)
deep pan,
rebuilt stock pump with bolted in stator tube
two piece shift arm so it will work with any brand shifter.

pretty much what was said above. a good builder is a must also to avoid a lot of issues such as clearance problems and pressure issues.

good option, but at that level and weight, mounted properly, a stock case will go along way. I'd spend the coin on a straight cut gearset first.
Dont skimp on converter.

People on here have different ways but we've been in the 4.90-5.00 range with a factory transmission cross member and a stock nova rubber glide mount. with a heavier car.

The car needs to be stiff enough so the case doesn't become stressed and start busting. This is one of the biggest reasons for busted cases. The chassis starts flexing, binding up the trans. case, and it can only take so much.
X 100 on finding a good builder. I've been fortunate to live near one of the best tranmission guys around. He pretty much only builds racing and hot rod trans. I've been running 'glides for 20 years from him and have never had any major problems with his stuff. He makes his own valvebodies that are the quickest I've ever seen for reaction times.

I prefer a flex mount (rubber/urethane) for an auto trans tail shaft mount. This is because there will always be some given amount of chassis flex (no matter how many cage bars you put in a car) that can mess with an auto trans case & valvebody if mounted solid.
