First 1/4 mile pass 9.536 @ 141.67 mph video
Even though I have had the car together and running for a couple months now, I have been just trying to dial it in at a nearby 1/8th mile track. Last thursday I found out why I was having trouble with my 60' times, the passenger side relocation bracket for the lower control arm was moving / bending. On the next day (friday) I was supposed to go to Famoso (1/4 mile track), so I decided just to remove the brackets and remount the lower control arms to the stock locations so I could go racing. This screwed up the geometry so I was spinning pretty good out of the hole. So the bad news is the 60' times where in the low 1.4Xs. The good news is the car still managed a 9.536 @ 141.67 mph. So once I get the suspension sorted out, this is definitely a high 9.3X car on motor only.
Here is a video I made, using the Go Pro HD:

COOL!
5th pass this weekend on my new combo ran a 6.13 at 115.3. Hopefully I'm looking at your kinda times in the 1/4. Got some left in mine too. That would be the shit!

Your mph is basically the same, no reason why you shouldn't be in the 9.50s. I notice in the 9.60 index class we run out here, most have 1/8th mile times of 6.15, so you should be right there.

Thanks! Hoping for 9.30s when I go back out there in a couple weeks.

Wished you had too. I didn't get to talk to near as many as I would have liked. Chased bugs all day Friday.

No way, you would more then likely be in the high 8s.
Here is one of the more accurate conversion tables I have found. Obviously every car is different depending on the mph, but this particular table shows a 6.1 being a 9.52, and that matches perfectly with my car.
Anyway it shows a 5.70 as being an 8.89.

Yeah I am finding out what it "should" run vs what it actually runs is very different.
How much does your car weigh?

Not sure now, added alot more cage. Last year with an 8 point and the SCJ headed motor with me in it, it was just under 3200lbs. I weigh about 200. I'm guessing close to 3300 now. Need to put it on a diet, but I don't want to take away from the stock looking interior.

Re: First 1/4 mile pass 9.536 @ 141.67 mph video
Ok, so based on your 1/8th mile mph and weight, I think you are in the same boat as I am----that is the car should be a 5.9X car in the 1/8th and a 9.3X car in the 1/4.
As for me, I am hoping to pick up a couple mph when the air gets better. I have been racing in 2500-3500+ DA. I am getting new relocation brackets welded in for the lower control arms so we will see later this month when I go back to the 1/4 mile track.

Got the M/T 10.5W's on, they are a big tire. Should have absolutely no problem hooking at the track now! 9.30s here I come! I also got my official NHRA number. Ordered some custom decals in silver and black (instead of the plan white) to match the rest of the car. Here are some pictures from today:

Vert Nice looking ride
One thing I do on mine when I open my hood I stick my hood pins back in the holes. That way for some reason I get in a hurry I don't for get to put them back in when I close the hood.I don't know if you do that or not but have seen hoods fly off where someone grts in hurry and leave the pins out, they will hood the up that way help to not forget them.

Thank you! I worked on it for 1 1/2 years, mostly in my garage (except the engine and cage) and I am happy with the result. Its exactly what I wanted, new body with an "old school" motor that I am very comfortable working on.
Re: First 1/4 mile pass 9.536 @ 141.67 mph video
You SHOULD be proud of that ride! It's really nice. I haven't been able to get back to the track since the bash. Good luck on those .30's!
Let me know how it goes.

Looking good. I like the stock/super stock look. What class is C/Gas?

C gas in the WCHRA is a 9.60 index. I figure if I can run 9.30s in good track conditions, I should be able to run a 9.60 in almost anything, even at Vegas where the DA is close to 4000 often. The same class is "Quick Street" in PSCA.
