Held our dirt drag today
As this was a hurry up deal, and we had fairly short notice to get all together, we had a good turnout on trucks. There was a spirited class in the Sportsman and Super Stock classes. I was a busy guy with helping out with the announcing, running numbers for brackets and general all around go to for questions. My daughter took some vids of my truck running today, and I finally got a better idea of how the chassis was working, and I would say that it is finally hooking hard and running straight. Thanks again for an awesome engine to Randy M, and also thanks to lots of guys here for the chassis advice. If one has never had to harness this level of power on any kind of track, you would be surprised at all there is to it. I've been very fortunate to know as many guys with knowlege on the chassis end of this project. Here are the vids my daughter shot of me.
This run was against Denny's brother Dave, and the loose nut behind the wheel forgot to engage the front axle again. Dave's truck is one hard running SS rig, and he won fair and square on this one.

These two runs were against a couple local guys. One was a Sporstman truck, and the other was another SS rig that was having some issues today.

This was the last run of the day, and I ate a sandwich and took a nap on the line. Denny was on his game today and cut a great light on me while I was taking my nap. Talk about a crowd pleaser run here. Over 2200 hp on the line making a sub 3 sec run for both trucks.

This was definately a horsepower style track that hooked hard and ran some very fast times for all classes.
Denny thanks to you and all your family for the lights and helping out with the event today. Tell Dave I'm not too embarassed to show that vid of him beating me.

What was Dave Bloom running for a mill ? Is it still the big iron headed engine or did he upgrade ?

Had a great time Schmitty, we'll have to do it again. When you get your hole shot dialed in you will be a magnum force to be reckoned with.

I stayed with the trusty old 205 for now. I think next year I am going to look a little harder at the Pro Fab billet unit. It would be usefull to be able to change gear ratios for different track conditions.

Looked and sounded good Rob! The truck is hooking hard, even in your 2wd run.
So, the big question is how do you like those Racinginthedirt v-cut tsls? Had a chance to try them in any real mud or just in the sling pits?

Not really having anything as such to compare them too, I can't give much of an opinion. I like the light weight, for saving the front end components, I know that much. In Sturgis, we were in some pretty deep sloppy pits and I had no problem getting them on top. There are so many differing opinions on front tires, that it is hard to sort it all out.

Since I'm such a glutton for punishment, if I can get some good close up shots of how they are cut. I'd be willing to cut some swampers to match!

Are those 36's or 38's? How much do they weigh?

Re: Held our dirt drag today
I think he's got the 38's and the website says they weigh about 47lbs. Find me 4 good 38" TSL's and I'll cut us some tires

Yes they are the 38.5's, and yes they are really light. About 60# for wheel and tire.
