Re: Green Oil?
there are still some great oils made from Pennsylvania GREEN Crude Oil base. not sure if that is where Shaffers stuff comes from or not, but certainly "The old Kendall Oil" the new "Brad Penn Oil" and "Joe Gibbs Racing Oil" and others im sure.........................

Re: Green Oil?
My green oil is the Brad Penn semi-synthetic. It's supposed to be the same formula as the "old Kendal". I would try some Schaeffer oil, but their closest distributor is over 90 miles away.
I ran the "purple stuff" for the last 8 years, but their price increases finally put it out of reasonable reach for me.

Re: Green Oil?
David, There is a distributor that lives two miles from me. Let me know if you want to get together and buy some.

I like the Brad Penn, used it for five years, and don't see any use to change, and the price is great.

Re: Green Oil?
My fleet trucks here are on Schaeffer, and the wear particles in my oil samples are in the 3-7 ppm range. Unbelievable.............
Also see a big drop in temps with it. I have used and tested it all but the Joe Gibbs and Royal purple is the only one that keeps wear down and temps like Shaeffer. But Schaeffer is under 5 bucks a quart verses 8 bucks for royal p.

Re: Green Oil?
The question that begs to be ask....do the results have anything to with what color dye was put in the batch?

I am sure you are correct on the color "maybe" being a dye , but there is NO other oil out there without aftermarket additives being added to it other than schaefer that will pass the bearing test the reps will perform for you to see from what I understand. I personally know 2 reps but have never seen or asked for the test to be performed.
I do know someone that owns a car that broke the oil pump drive shaft during the burnout , the burnout was finished and the driver did not notice the 0 oil pressure light was on and almost got the car staged before the owner got his attention to shut the car down. The end result was no bearing damage after complete tear down of the engine.

Another advantage of green oil........you save money by not having to buy an oil pump.
