Not a question...it's a class they should have Like Phillip said to me "that guy crashed 3 times...he just didn't hit the wall."
Re: NMCA
Sure would be nice if the NMCA would extend the cut-off year for Nostalgic Muscle Car to at least the last year of the carbureted V-8....1985.

In Nostalgia Super Stock, the cut-off date is 1967, meaning '67 body styles and older. For the Ford racers, that also means FE engines only. IMO they are discriminating against the Fords, by not allowing the later body years, and therefore not allowing the 385 Series engines.
For the Muscle Car class, they do allow the later years,,,,I believe they go all the way up through 1974.

Yes Charlie, they do allow the Fords to go to 1979 in NMC, however, the small block V-8 is the only allowed engine.
I just don't see why the NMCA can use 1979 as the cutoff year.....the last musclecar built from the first generation of musclecars was 1974 and that was the 455 Super Duty Firebirds.
Not a single muscle car was made from 1975-1979.
On a side note: Owners of 1986 to 1995 Mustang 5.0L are just S.O.L. because they do not have a class for them as well. ( except for brackets and the transbrake Open Comp class)
The oldest EFI Stang allowed in their EFI class is 1996.
Oh well, I'll just keep bitchin' on various message boards and maybe someone at the NMCA will listen.......

Re: NMCA
Alan,I can KINDA see why the Fox body Mustang does'nt have a class in NMCA.It's probably because they have classes for them in NMRA and not any classes for the older cars in NMRA. If they let the Fox body's have a class, there would be SO many it would take 4 days to complete the event. I don't have anything against the Foxbody, just saying that is probably the reason why.JMO

I see your point Rick.
If I read correctly, they had over 400 entries (combined) at Indy.
I like the NMC guidelines and I have friends that run the class.
I like the idea about it being a footbrake class on a full tree. (something I am used to)
Oh well, the only hope I have is to convert my '91 Mustang Coupe and make it look like a '79 to fit the rules. That would give me two races to run each year @ Beech Bend.
