witch is better
alum plate or steel
the place where i have my block boreing done just got a alum plate
is there any pro's or con's about thease
i am running alum heads so maybe thease are the way to go?
is it wise to touq the plates down with the same studs you are gonna used
how about useing an old gasket also
it would be like haveing a alum head with gasket on the block while it is beening bored?
i have never had any of my blocks bored with a bore plate
block is a svo block not shure if that matters or not

The general thoery with a blind hole like the 429/460 is that a torque plate isn't needed however I did have my A460 block torque plated when Butch did the honing. The stress from the threads in the block is what is supposed to distort the cylinder wall "Slightly" so Aluminum or steel plate? Shouldn't make a differnce, I would think.
