Winter Upgrades
My offseason got started a little early this year due to blowing the motor last month. Slowly been buying parts and working on the car to get ready for next season. Got a big parts list and a ton of cash to spend, it may take me all winter but I'll be ready come next April . Plans for the motor are to build a 557 outta a DOVE-A block, four bolt main caps, Adney 4340 crank, scat rods and diamond pistons. Oiling systmes gonna be a Kaase oil pump and a Canton pan and pickup deal. I've got TFS streets that Charlie raised the rooofs on and the mafia intake. In the name of saving a few bucks gonna use the same cam which may only leave 10 horse on the table so I'm good with that. Basically just need to build a sound short block and use all my old stuff. I've already upgraded the fuel system with a magnafuel 500 pump and filter so I figured I might as well convert this baby to alky while I'm at it. Original plan was to go with the terminator injection set up but the new motor kinda took care of that plan. Shooting for 850HP and 5.70's in my coupe. She should fly
I figured with the alky I'm gonna want to get the fumes the hell away from me so I'm building new headers that exit towards the front and out the front fender. I really wanted them out the side in the back but that's not easily accomplished on a fox chassis, so out the back they go.
My ugly welds

Re: Winter Upgrades
yes, I just got some adapters for them to screw into from the hardware store. Put some sort of heating element or pad on the oil pan also................that with the block heaters will save a bunch of fuel and oil dillution during warm ups. You'll really be glad you did with the injection.

Re: Winter Upgrades
Haven't had much time to get much done but I started smoothing out the engine bay. No need to be embarassed any more to take the hood off Also adding some snout bars. Apparently the big block was twisting up the front end a lil Snout bars and welding up all the seems should do the trick. Made some extra room at the rear of the firewall as well, top two bellhousing bolts were always a pain....not anymore!!!

Re: Winter Upgrades
Winter is over and spring is here and I've gotten a few things done but I'm no where near ready for racing yet. This thing has fought me every step of the way, finally seem to be making some progress though. Got the under the hood project completed, wiring is 75% done and I just got the block back on Wednesday. I could write a book about all the troubles I've had with machine shops and trying to get this thing put together. Three different machine shops and 4 months and shes finally ready for assembly.
