Home security Empty Home security

I'm looking for a security camera system with a DVR. I'd like two outdoor wireless night vision cameras. I'd like to be able to view the cameras from my phone or work computer. I'm pretty clueless to these systems. I want a good system but don't want to spend a fortune. Anyone here in the know?

Well I can tell you that I just got a security sytem installed. It cost me $850 plus $24 per month monoriting. This place is like a fortress now. It has door and window contacts, glass break detectors and motion detectors. I could've had security cameras also but didn't. Reason being is I don't have an i phone and plus it was more mulla for that feature. You can get systems however you wish and depends on how deep your pockets are. I also went with a local company as ADT was quite expensive and they both use the same stuff.

Now... I didn't go with purchasing/or even check out pricing my own cameras, monitors and who knows what else would be needed so I have no info to share with you if you were to purchase this stuff and have your own system.

Hope this helps

I installed a Swann 4 camera system with a 500 gig hard drive DVR that allows me to see all 4 cameras from my iPhone.
http://www.swann.com/s/products/view/?product=1161
The entire system costs about $450 and is available at Frys Electronics. The iPhone application that works with it is called ASee and is free.
It is not wireless. I had to hard wire the cameras. Swann has a new wireless camera that I have not seen.

It is $200 by itself, and I think you could add it to the DVR deal. Just call Swann and tell them what you want to do.
I bought my stuff almost a year ago, and it works great.
If you combine this DVR system with a good home security system with a wireless backup and a short barrelled 12 gauge pump, affraid you should feel rather safe.
