SFI-15 Driver Suit & Hans?
Need some advice from you guys running SFI-15 gear. What are your
recommendations for driver suits??? I've heard from some guys that
their suits are so thick and stiff they will stand up on their own! Are
there any that are lighter weight material and really comfortable?
Please let me hear what you've got (SFI-15 only please) and think
of it??
Also recommendations for "Head & Neck Restraints"?? I've heard the
actual Hans brand is very restrictive and you cant even turn your
head??? Makes it kinda hard to bracket race!!! I've also heard some
are built into the jacket or back of the seat?? I'd love to hear what
you guys are running and think of them???
Daughter needs the whole deal for next year.
Many thanks,
Rich

I use Stroud -15 jacket and pants with no problems. Get your measurements right before ordering. I also have the carbon Hans brand with no problems. You can turn your head almost 90 degrees in either direction.

I use a Simpson's Hybrid Pro. I make myself use the thing but I dont like it. Racing for years without it and it makes you feel like there is little to no head movement. It is for safety so I use it...plus the wife has said dont run the car without!

We have the Simpson Pro Rage with slider tethers.
We are tall and have a hard time getting sizes that are not huge in the waist for our height. I like the ProFox 2 piece suit along with the Carbite underwear. The combination is almost the rating of of the 3.2A/20.

ProFox sells kits too that will lower the price.

Tony I've been reading the info at Hans website. Is the
"carbon Hans brand" model you said you are using the
"Professional", "Sport I", or "Sport II" series?? It appears
to only attach to the helmet? Are there any attachments
to the jacket?
Thanks!

I will check on the model this weekend (I live 2 hours from my stuff). You are correct, they only attach to the helmet. The carbon devices are exactly the same as the non carbon one. Just a little lighter.

The Sparco suit is nice.
Stay away from Impact.
Make sure you get sliding tethers on the head and neck support.
