Id think the manifold would be heavy also on the A460 deal, lot of aluminum there. I think there is only 80 #'s in a iron dove and like a alum cj style head, the a460 heads are bigger...............I couldnt tell ya Lem prolly knows the weight diff............I bet it would pretty much be a wash though.

My old A-429 alum CJ heads were 69 lbs (pair), my new TFS A-460 18 bolt heads ported from Charlie are 88.8 lbs (pair). They both had valves, springs, pushrod plates and rocker studs. More weight with A-460's, buut should have more HP,

D0VE heads are CAST IRON.
The deletion of weight is always more effective then the addition of comparable horsepower. However, the weight difference here would be almost the same yet the horsepower addition in this instance is no where near comparable; being that you should be adding a whole lot more power, lol.
The D0VE heads are about 15 pounds apiece heavier than A460's and the intake manifold difference is about 12 pounds so, you would gain only about 18 pounds total so, if the power was the SAME you would gain.

I wouldn't sweat the weight, the better cyl head will more than make up for it. It's kinda like an A460 block, yes its heavier...........but its a good kind of heavy............

Honestly take whatever advice Lenny gave you on the converter deal, IMO its not a place to skimp.
The car as a whole needs to be considered, not just the powerplant.............

Yeah I am beginning to learn that fact. I bought this car "turn key" in Sept. and already have dumped 90% of what I gave for it back into it. It must be fast, it must be competitive, and it must be consistent. Otherwise, whats the point? My wallet isn't very happy right now but it is what it is! Hopefully it will all pay off in the spring. Hell, atleast its keeping me from blowing it in bars
