Re: slicks vs radials
Guys go fast on them Nick, but they are all smallblock cars around here and can bring the power in slow. I doubt you'd ever hook that thing on a radial. Most of the guys given a choice run the slick............which is what you want on a big motor power adder car IMO.

Nick i think you would have to change some of the setting and work more on the rampping the power in eazy.I know it not a ford but it is a 632 on spray running 8.20 and 3 time drag radial champ.http://www.npsaracing.com/page24.html

Re: slicks vs radials
I agree that there are guys that are fast on them. But there is a art in getting the car to work. Ramping the power is a big part of the tune on these cars. I am talking about the drag radials. The radials also seem to work better the more passes you get on them.
The drag slicks do have some advantages of thier own. Being a radial they do not grow, stay more stable at high speeds, and don't require the big burnouts to make them work.

Re: slicks vs radials
Just my experiance my mustang will take a big tire or small i made the rear midlength, on my 33/17 tire the car hooks hard, a little picky on shaking when boost controler hits, but very loose feeling on the top. On my 315/60/15 radials 30/11 the car it VERY stable, you can add steering correction without causing the car to sway at all, drive 1 handed all the way very comfortably. The only problem is you need to
aply power smooth the radial tend to blow off all at once ,rather than chirping or hazing like a slick.
Just a little of my experiance
