460 .030 over ( Engine out of 78 lincoln MarkV)

I live in Ga. too Whatya got that engine in ?I have an edelbrock headed 460 also .It is in a 67 comet and I am installing caltracs this week.Your engine should be in the 500+hp range .Do you run at the Valdosta track.My car has run a 7.26 in cool air My cam is a solid flat tappet 250-259 @50 performer rpm airgap 950 quick fuel .I live below atl in griffin and my track is silver dollar in reynolds .Stay in touch is your car a streeter just curious with that 3.50 gear .Doug Smile

Doug,
I have got the 466 in a 1970 f-100 SWB truck. And yes it is more for the street than the track run on Pump gas . I do run it @ Cecil going back in a couple of weeks after I get some chassis work finished up , Having issues with weight transfer but we gettin there. Best time so far is a 12.10 @ 111 mph 1.72 60' . . Gonna try to get some pictures loaded on here as soon as I get some time away from work.Sounds like we got alot of the same stuff in our engines . Looking forward hearing from you or meeting you @ Cecil sometime if you race any there. Jimmy

i to have a truck 472 1952 f1 if u get those 60's down in the mid 1.50's your in the hi 11's for sure. i have cal tracs and 275x60x15 mt dr and im in the 1.56 to 1.62 60' most the time with a best of 1.51 good luck with your build

Cool sounds about like what i had,when i bought my little bro's 73 f100 long bed 2x2 he had a 70 472'' with ported 68 429 heads on it with the same comp 292 cam,trw dish pistons and a stealth intake,we never ran it at the track but years later i put it in a gutted fox body and it ran 10.57@ 128 mph with a 1.48 60' and that was with a tci 11'' breakaway converter and c6 trans from the truck, i fell in luv with big fords ever since Very Happy good luck its gonna be a screamer for sure Twisted Evil and when u say cecil i was thinkin cecil county dragway in MD.

I am putting caltracs on my comet how do you like yours.I imagine you had a traction problem until installing them .Maybe one day we can hookup.Keep at it .Doug

Jimmy cool looking shifter did you come up with the shifter bracket design haven't seen one like that before .Also looks like someone has some cool projects going on in the shop to.

Thanks !!!!
Actually my Nephew came up with the idea & my brother built it for me. It'a one of a kind, it is perfect made out of stainless 45* pypes mandrel bend exhaust pipe, Gonna color match it to the exterior when I paint the truck later on in the year. That is my Brother's shop & my nephew's 52 Chebbie 5-window, & the model A he is replacing all the wood frame in the cab.

Jimmy who did your machine work on your block we been looking for a good machine around here Wildcat is way to high on their prices I use to carry all mine to Nashville to James's Auto Parts but last I herd they closed the machine shop after he pasted away.Just wondering if you new any down that way that did good work.

Green Flag Racing ( Jay Patrick ) here in Valdosta . They do outstanding work . Thier number is 229-244-1624 . They also sell the full line of VP race gas & fill nitrous bottles.
