Re: Q16
I wander what makes one engine like it so much better than the other. Same dyno, same fuel ,same compression, must have alot to do with cam, overlap, timing, heads and all that other stuff i no nothing about.

Yep AND, VP113 is a few cents less than 50 bucks for a 5 gallon container.
If you want that 1 to 2 % horsepower increase of the Q16 over VP113, then you gotta pay for it
Re: Q16
I've been running the Sonoco Maximal 116 stuff. How does the VP q16 compare? Similar or way different?

I'm surprised no one brought up the nasty residue q16 leaves behind after it evaporates. Thick sticky stuff. Every pro team that I know of, ADRL XPS, drains the carbs completely as to not plug them up.

I have the same issue with the Sonoco Maximal. I end up having to clean out everything from the tank to the carb so it doesn't leave this nasty residue.

So, what would be best in a 13.4, P51 headed 533 ? VP113 or Q116 ?

If ALL you care about is power and the cost is not any issue at all then Q16 is on top.
In my opinion, it doesn't start being worth it until the compression ratio gets above 14/1; (unless of course the engine is boosted).
Re: Q16
That's what I was hoping to hear. VP113 it is.

Re: Q16
This stuff is nasty... (in a good way). Been running it a few years now and love it. I can't believe that you guys don't like the smell (although not in a sealed up garage).
The first year we left some sit in the system over the winter. The card was pretty gummed up come spring and our A2000 pump had a seal go bad and was leaking. Since then we try to drain the system and run something a little less hard through before winter storage. Never dyno compared but seat of the pants says its got more zip. Considering trying out Torco 118 oxy (waiting on specs to see if it is nearly the same as Q16).
