Is there any gains to be had by smoothing down the CNC marks inside the ports on CNC ported heads?

Not usually, Unless the bumps and ridges are really big in the turns.

At the parting line, smoothing the transition where the cutting tool comes in from the flange meets where it comes in from the bowl can usually help somewhat but, most of the time, nothing else needs to be addressed.

There are times when CNC programs are modified to attain different sizes and in those rare cases it is needed to "connect the dots" by hand to get to the finished port shape. This is usually when developing one port to fit another application is being done.

thats what i was thinking, i have a set and near the bowl area and on the turn the ridges get rather large and theres a small gap in the cutting. I think ill smooth it down a bit and match the transition up so that if should flow smooth. Thanks guys! Very Happy
