Would there be enough interest???
Kinda been thinking about this the last couple years, is there enough interest to have a North vs. South dragrace deal? Maybe an all heads up index deal. Maybe have one event up here and one down south maybe in TN or KY. I know Uncle Charlie said he may bring some cars up for my Powered By Ford Race but I think they will all be either Big Tire heads up or Super-Pro cars, are there any 10.5 guys that plan on coming? Maybe we could do a North vs. South ladder in the heads up classes.
Just thinking out loud, give me some feedback and maybe we can make this happen.

Re: Would there be enough interest???
I know many will disagree with me but I think this should take on a format that doesn't involve an index. This needs to be spicy,
* North vs South, dictated by the Mason Dixon line or an agreed upon state line
* 1320 feet. Thats a 1/4 mile for our southern friends, lol. (gear change time)
* Two classes.....Big Tire and SS 28x10.5
* must be Ford Powered
* door cars only (rails see below)
* The usual no throttle stops, blah blah blah
* 200$ buy in, hat race style. The more entries the more money paid out
Here's where it gets tricky. I'll say no index but I would put a cap on the fastest ET that each class can run in order to limit the amount of Pro Mods and SSO cars that show up......say 8.00 for the small tire class and 6.90 for the Big Tire class. That allows ALOT of cars to participate, including some older Radial stuff and some older TS/PS cars. Just my .02 worth but as a racer I'd be all over this
If the rail guys want to play then run that class as a bracket deal

Actually I was thinking a couple indexes but I really like Tony's idea. If have enough guys that are for sure coming up here we can get this hammered out I am sure it will be interesting.

Be nice.................
Let me be the first guy down south to concede you northern guys are greatest racers and engine builders in the USA. I'm proud for ya............
Just as soon as my sister and me get divorced I will come up to race with you guys.
Well I do have to get this last tooth pulled too so I may be a little late..............
Thanks for lumping us all together and letting us know how you feel about the south and all the people in it.

Relax, just razzing you guys, although I did feel there would be more interest than there seems to be.

Give it some time, I think there will be more interest. I think the time between races will help.

I'm actually quite partial to the south. Grew up in/on the Gulf Coast. Just stuck here in the land of 32 seasons

I'm interested in the big tire heads up deal if I get a trailer and tow vehicle by then. The car will be ready (or possibly blown up) by then

Southern = south of the Mason-Dixon Line in the eastern seaboard states, and then south of the Ohio River, with the exception of West Virginia which left the Commonwealth of Virginia at the time of the Civil War.
