A460 rocker studs?
Ok since I'm freshening the motor i figure I'd replace the rocker studs as you can see somebody really cranked down on the polly locks and for piece of mind. The studs I have don't measure up to the TFS or ARP spec's. Matter of fact the TFS stuff don't measure up to the ARP stuff as well. So the studs I removed from My heads has a lower base length of 1" and no centering shank for the guide plates. I was hoping to get a lower base of 1" instead of .750 on the TFS stuff just for extra strength. So why put ARP's name on some thing you can't get from ARP? just thought I could save a buck or two Buying ARP's stuff rather than TFS

I know they are made by ARP but only for TFS and they get to charge double for it. This sucks

Well the worst thing you can do is put a generic ARP part number such as the old 1701 in the heads. The TFS studs are propriority parts made by ARP, but they are taller for a reason. That reason being that you will have proper rocker arm geometry for the 2.00" installed height, and have plenty of threads of engagement for your polylocks.
IMO if, if, they charge double it's worth it. Phillip and I "saved" a truck pulling engine that had cast iron EX 514 A-460 style heads,,,,and too short of a rocker stud,,,,by buying and installing the taller TFS rocker studs on the EX 514 heads. Of course then we had to install longer pushrods also, but together they solved all the geometry problems on a screwed up engine that came in here to be dynoed.

Re: A460 rocker studs?
I just bought the TFS studs for my A460's through Summit yesterday, kinda wierd deal there the TFS-54400614 = 16 studs@$129.99 but TFS-54400614-8 = 8 studs@$51.99 I bought 2 sets of 8 for almost $30 savings.

54400614-8 = $51.95 - 8 studs with standard lenght base threads.
54400615-8 = $84.95 - """""""""""""" 1-1/4" """""""""""""""""""""""
54400614 = $129.95 16 studs - 8 with standard base & 8 with 1-1/4" base threads.
The difference in price is the lenght of the studs.

Re: A460 rocker studs?
I have the Motorsport A460's, I called Trickflow and they said that the older heads used all 16 studs that are the same and the 54400615 was for the heads produced within the last year or so.
