Electric Or Gas golf cart????
Looking into getting a golf cart for this season to tow the car to the lanes & back to the trailer & of course run around the pits, should i go electric or gas, was wondering if anyone had any advise.
Re: Electric Or Gas golf cart????
If your towing ,you'd better go gas

Re: Electric Or Gas golf cart????
always thought the electric ones would have more torque for pulling
Re: Electric Or Gas golf cart????
my gas one pulls great. The electric ones run down pretty quick when pulling a load.

You must be burning that high dollar gas in your race car and have a methanol rated radiator

Re: Electric Or Gas golf cart????
alot of guys use electric with no worries, just need to make sure any used electric cart has good to excellent batteries in it...a good charger is also critical....electric cart has ore than enough power to pull a race car and crew
i prefer gas, just simply due to I dont simply want electric...I always have fuel, a tankful will last a real long time....also more than enough power to pull the race car. one thing a strongly recomend is a 4stroke cart over a 2 stroke.....nothing wrong with a 2, but there usually older, lack a bit on power, and smoke pretty good under a load....most not all...and this is even with a tight engine 4 stroke is quiet, odorless, and just plain nice to drive around....any brand will suit your needs....EZGO, Yammaha, Club Car are all great carts and parts and stuff to "trick out" are easiely obtained
I own a 04 Yammaha G22 4 stroke....replaced a nice 4wheeler (Can-Am) and Ill never look back....much more comfotable for family and crew

Battery kart are nice super quite the will out pull gas if they have good batteries and right controler in them but about every 2 to 3 years you will be spending around $600 on batteries. With gas you don't have to worry about going out charging the batteries before you leave and head to the track and as has been said 4 stroke pulls better and will last longer than the 2 strike will.

Re: Electric Or Gas golf cart????
For general pit use, it is hard to beat a gas cart.
I have pals with electric carts, and they are usually hitching a ride when their batteries go dead.
I vote for gas.

Re: Electric Or Gas golf cart????
I picked up an old EZGO 2 stroke before winter for 500 bucks because the forward reverse switch was supposed to be bad( it wouldn't run forward), but when I went to load it the thing fired right up, lucky I guess.
Re: Electric Or Gas golf cart????
Gas it is!!! picked this one up for 1485.00 + a new set of "PIMP MY RIDE" wheels & tires

Ilikee the electric cart I have, my batteries were in the cart for six years, they died on me when I was at the hot rod reunion with Dan, bought six new ones and it runs like a scalded dog, and it will pull a car as good as a electric one.
