max vac on dry sump?
how much vac can you run on a 600" bbf i was told that if pull over 17in lbs of vac that it would pull oil away from the wrist pins

We did 16" on our smallblock with no issues, 12" would be pretty safe IMO.

What is your pin clearance? I had mine opened up to .0015-.002" because I'm going to run a Peterson 5-stage with a Star Machine vacuum pump.

16" should be plenty . With a 600" engine you;ll have to have a vac. pump also to get that much unless you have a super high dollar pump .

I hve been running up to 17 inches on my 605 with a dry sump with no issues.
I have a 3 stage Moroso pump, running at 50% and a Moroso enhanced design vacuum pump running at about 65%.
