Never heat coil springs to relax them to adjust ride height, (it will destroy the spring steel). If you're not wanting to buy new shorter/softer springs to adjust ride height it's always a better idea to cut coils off the old spring vs heating the old spring.

When cutting coils off a spring a cutting torch is usually OK to use. But do not fuuk around and waste time during the cut which can expose the spring to too much heat. And remember to clean up the rough torch cut with a grinder. Using a 3-4" chop wheel is a better idea, especially if you plan to make a bunch of smaller coil cuts (and test fit the spring a few times) to sneak up on the final ride height.

Cutting a coil spring a given amount will increase it's working spring rate a very small given amount just like shortening a torsion bar increases it's spring rate a given amount (less material to spring/twist) A coil spring is in effect a torsion bar bent into a coil.

not good ......... didnt touch the car this weekend , yard work, spring cleaning , rode the horse , fishing, the normal country weekend

Cooked up some buffalo T-bones and grill potatoes for supper here. No weight reduction going on here.

i made a new vac pump mount and took a hammer to a couple of crower rockers so she's about ready!lol

I got the gopro up and working.........

I made a deal with local machine shop to do all the machining to rollerize my trans to put their name on the truck.

Got quite a bit done this weekend. Some paint work, some engine work, the usual.

The cars invited to run in this race are from this board only... Right?

What will be the break ET for qualifying? Anybody got a guess? 5.30?

mostly are from this board, but i have invited others , the fastest car on th list went 5.3x , its going to be a tight field , if i fell we have any cars that will walk away from this deal they will be un-invited ..... it wouldnt make sense to have a car that would be 3-5 tenths faster then the whole field ........ we will lock down this race soon
