If your truck moves when you release the Tb I.e. doesn't blow the tires off you should be fine, and you need to get that thing out of the air, it's gonna be a handful in high gear.bigblok2000ranger wrote:cool40 wrote:whats your truck weigh? whats it run? my junk is over 2650# with my fat ass in it and went 5.36 last fall,in good air.bigblok2000ranger wrote:Then your in!

This will be a new combo this year I ran 10.51@129.29 with the old combo but we sold off everything except the block, crank and rods from that build new combo is .060" over 10cc domed pistons with ported Motorsport A460 heads and a second gen trickflow tunnel ram with 2 1050's 2 3/8 primary headers with 4 1/2 collectors. trans is getting fully rollerized.

Aside from the struts, shocks and brakes on my car it's the mid 90s all over again. Yellowhorse is the suspension guy that can get down any track, anytime it seems. It's like he's got some sort of magic coin in his pocket. Him and his trick team Z voodoo, it could be snowing and he'd put it on the bumper... I have to keep putting a bigger and bigger tire on my shitboxes.richter69 wrote:lol, you wanna see some homebuilt junk come take a gander at my hillbilly rig................... That will be addressed the rear is easy just a matter of moving a bolt up couple holes, the front we are gonna heat the springs. Worst case scenario might have to put dropped a-arms.

I'd just be done with it and cut that mess outta there and put some tire on it...........you'll end up there sooner or later.

X1000 just get a feel for the power this year, and plan on doing some upgrading next year. I have a spare set of 32x14s you can use for mock up.....richter69 wrote:bigblok2000ranger wrote:Barney wrote:If your truck moves when you release the Tb I.e. doesn't blow the tires off you should be fine, and you need to get that thing out of the air, it's gonna be a handful in high gear.bigblok2000ranger wrote:cool40 wrote:whats your truck weigh? whats it run? my junk is over 2650# with my fat ass in it and went 5.36 last fall,in good air.bigblok2000ranger wrote:Then your in!

Dont Heat the Springs----- Cut a coil or two.

That seems to be the great debate one person says cut a coil... and another says they get better results heating them.
Barney I may take you up on that, S&W sells a ladderbar kit for my truck so it would just be a matter of getting a narrowed rearend and couple hours in the garage. I have some experience with ladderbars so that is the way I will go if needed.

I'm hoping the glide will settle my car down some. I didn't know whether I should say a prayer, or be given last rights every time I let the tb go...
Re: the bullshit stops here .........
it should.i went from c4 to a glide and realy calmed it down.i did'nt see ANY et,mph,or even 60' gain with the glide but it did make it possible to go faster.Barney wrote:I'm hoping the glide will settle my car down some. S&W also has the narrowed housings with everything already welded up. No sense in narrowing one and welding it up, would probably cost more any ways.
I used their kit 7 years ago, just don't use their coil-overs...get some Afcos or Strange units.
They might even have a option to upgrade to better coil-overs also.

DO NOT HEAT THE SPRINGS!!! Talk to a metalurgist about what heating does to springs coils....you'll run. Cutting is always better. Custom is the best choice. And I'd shy away from dropped a-arms as well. Certain SS guys (David Wolfe I believe and some of the RaceCraft guys i think) can make them work but we have had zero luck with them. Get it built and we'll plot it out

Boo Boo you better save that wax man for another day son, I been waiting a long time to sit next to you brother!
Bruno to make it even better, let's just put all the names in a hat each guy pulls from the hat. We can number them 1 thru 16. we can do it like march madness
1 vs 16
2 vs 15
3 vs 14
and so on.
after round one is done, then the second round will be the lowest number vs the higher number and so on until I'm the only guy left standing!!!
That's what I said!! We do it like that once a month here in DETROIT!!! Nobody has to see times just pull a number and run....
