Getting the 'Chero ready Empty Getting the 'Chero ready

Post  Ranch71460 April 20th 2012, 8:03 am

I finally got off my lazy butt and turned some wrenches on the car .
All I've done all winter is start it and run the motor up to temp to circulate the water every week.
This motor was having cooling issues at .060" over bore during some hot days in traffic last year.
I sent my water pump (came with my first motor) back to Meziere in California for a refurbish. They rebuilt it in 1 day and shipped it back!
Turns out the pump was only a 35gal/min drag race only one. For $150.00 they replaced the armature upgrading the pump to 45 gal/min. capacity.
I should have the 55 gal/min pump according to their tech. Will have to wait until next year as sponsorship was down this year.
I'm pulling the intake off to bead blast and powder coat it. I should have coated it last time as I keep staining it with gas when changing jets.
The other day I bought my oil as well. My Canton pan holds 9 qts. of 15W40 Royal Purple at $9.79 ea. ...you do the math
Our first show of the year is the Spring Thaw on April 29th.
