Seat update
For those with dedicated race cars, what brand of seats do you use ?

John

Re: Seat update
My last two cars have had kirkeys and I love them. My first one was too wide but the one I got now fits snug. I think they're the kirkey pro streets. They have extra padding in the bottom.

Re: Seat update
A few years ago when the aluminum seats (like the Kirkey) started to become more popular than the older double wall poly seats, some people claimed they were more comfortable than the plastic seats. But In my opinion the truth is either seat can be "more comfortable" than the other depending on how the driver likes to sit in the car......and if the driver is a skinny/fat ass.
The ploy/plastic seats that are more rounded in the area where the seat part meets the back part might be a little more comfortable to larger drivers. And to drivers that sit in the car slouched down with their ass sitting farther away from the seat back (not the safest way to sit).
The aluminum seats with a sharper bend where the seat meets the back might be a little more comfortable to thinner drivers and/or drivers that sit back as tight against the seat back as possible (your ass wedged tight into the corner).
The one benefit an aluminum seat has that a plastic/poly seat can't match is how much lower and/or how much farther back the driver can sit in the car with aluminum because they aren't double walled like the plastic seat is.

Re: Seat update
I like the aluminum kirkey seats in my buddy's car aka 557mazda better than the the plastic summit seats I have in the Ranger.Them oval holes in the back of the seats eats my back up when holding the brakes in the burn out box and when I leave the line.I have a padded cover on it but it don't help very much.

I have Kirkey's in my Pinto. I liked them for fit and on the street I found them more than comfortable enough. I don't think you can go wrong with them

Re: Seat update
Bought the seat and the kirkey mounts. For the back mount, is it legal to drill and tap the horizontal bar on the roll cage ?
This is the mount I purchased :
