moroso oil pump
just built a dart block 400 chev and used a moroso high volume pump, started motor and got 85-90psi at 2750rpm and 60 psi at idle. The pump came with a new spring which is suppost to drop the pressure 8-10psi so i installed it and the psi dropped to 55 at 2750 and 30 at idle. Do i assume the pump came with the wrong spring in the first place? Has anyone else had this happen?

Re: moroso oil pump
With a MOROSO Chevy pump ... usually the high volume pump comes with the high pressure spring installed with the regular spring separately and the standard volume pump comes with the regular pressure spring installed and the high pressure spring separately.
The pressures given in their instruction sheet are simply the averages of several different engine combinations and oil combinations.
