engine break in question
I have a new 545 forged , 3d h-beam , roller cam , roller rockers. roller lifters. . How much break in is needed , its a full race engine...???
do you need to break it in for 20 min.. or is a couple heat cycles good???

I typical run them for about 1/2 hour on the dyno under a light load, then let It rip

We tend to get them pretty warm when we load it up in the trailer and then get the oil hot warming it up at the track, cool the water off to our normal temp which is heads sweating and let that bad boy eat. Not much break-in per say but I don't have a dyno available most of the time.

the rings are the only thing really "breaking in" in your deal, and most performance ring packages these days dont require much run-time before there good to go, flat tappet cams require a little more patients......
