8.8 gear limits???
Fixin to put a set of Ford motorsport 3.73's in. With the spray I'll be pushing about 1100 hp.
Think the motorsport gears will hold it??

Re: 8.8 gear limits???
Ran those same gears with more power for years. I'm sure they are as good or better than the strange street gears we run now with close to 2000 hp. Lol

Re: 8.8 gear limits???
we went a 1.19 in testing on just the first kit ..... so i would venture to say it was about 900 ponies thru the 8.8

I think a car's weight, and if it dead-hooks or has wheel speed at the launch also plays a part in the life span of an 8.8 against decent power numbers.

Re: 8.8 gear limits???
The guy who used to do my rearends was deadset against the FRPP gears until I brought him a set and he checked them over and said they were a way better quality than the price would indicate and certainly in the top tier as far as standard gearsets go. He said he wshed he could fnd as high a quality gearset with similar prices for other rearends..

Re: 8.8 gear limits???
Motive has 3 manufacturing sites and he has gotten several sets that were made in china or wherever and they were all junk and not usable but apparently some are made in Australia and of good quality, but he will not even let a guy carry a Motive box into his shop.
