7's with iron heads & N20
I realize this is a wide open question with a lot of variables so don't be too hard on me.
Some specifics:
572" alum rods, bryant crank, venolia F.T. blower/N20 pistons. Either aftermarket or Dove-A block that I already have.
Ported iron scj heads w/injector on t ram, methanol, C-6 trans.
Car is 3000# w/driver 2x3 chassis and still has all glass, steel body except hood so it can be lightened somewhat.
I know with different heads, etc it would be no problem; would really like to try it with factory iron.
Fire away!!

There have been N/A D0OE-R engines build with less cubes than yours that have come close to an honest 900 hp. Add in a 300 - 400 shot and provided your car is well sorted a high 7 don't see why not.

I dont think these heads were dug out of a salvage yard and whittled on a bit with a die grinder lol.

circle R we've had 2 in the 8s on a single plate at 3000 lbs. the question is how much can you do yourself ? If you had to pay someone to do the work, I'm not sure how cost effective it would be given the volume of aftermarket castings out there. Unless there are rules dictating iron heads it's probly better to go the aftermarket arena.ifucan wrote:BOSS 429 wrote:well we've been 8.50s with dove heads

As has been said, it is certainly possible but, at how much effort to keep the iron SCJ heads...?
Lane Carey has probably the most "worked over" pair of iron SCJ's on the planet and I'd venture to say there is $10,000 in those heads however, his rules in FAST dictate that is what NEEDS to be done.
It is your decision as to how far you are willing to go in order to simply keep factory iron.

Why?
A $3500 Bryant crank, $1200 Venolia pistons, $1200 aluminum rods with $80 heads and a $100 block = Mismatch. Why???
Seems that you could go a lot faster if you matched things up.
