Congrats Dan Hobbs **** 2012 BBF Shootout Winner ****

Thanks everyone.It was brutally hot!! I was just hoping that Ole Thunderbird would start one more time. Thanks to Lee(Cool40) for the 2nd starter I wiped out this weekend. The car held up ....thank goodness...now this week ,it gets head gaskets , flexplate,tranny rebuild and a couple other things. I was lucky to hit on something ,I pulled 3 degrees timing out and lowered the shift and got the car to quit rattling the tires all the way through low gear and got it down the track. I didn't think any of us were gonna be able to get close enough to David Cole's ET's to have a shot at him after the 1st day. But I posted a faster time in the semi finals and got lane choice over him. That helped me some. Great race David!! It was tight all the way. Thanks to Nick for getting so much sponsorship for this race ,and to Blake and Andy for getting us a race together to start with!! I had a blast!!

Congrats to Dan, I'm certainly happy for him and it's well deserved.

I'd also say a big thanks to Carl and George Keown. They're some of the "good guys"

Did I leave out George and Carl?? Sorry guys!! K&H Racing kicked butt this weekend!! It's their engine in my car in case anyone didn't know,and thank goodness they had a new starter in the trailer!! This was a team effort for sure!! The car is alot stronger than at Norwalk for sure,the engine at Norwalk was Ky Jelly's 466 schoolbus engine with my A429 heads on it. This engine is a 575 A-headed Monster!!! Alky Injected N/A..........Did I mention Alky Injected WITHOUT NOS!!!

Thanks Russ, Don't be too disgusted with your car until you get to run it in some more favorable conditions. This heat was terrible this weekend.My car was over a tenth off.... I know David's gonna be reliving that race over and over,he's a great guy and a good friend. I'm still kickin my azz from the HotRod Reunion. I'd win that race 100 times in a row if I had one more shot at it, BUT this one sure eases the pain!!!

i hated the starter broke Dan,and hated to let you pay me for it...............but now you have all the$$$$ i'm ok with it!

Congrats Captain Dan; what a great run, both you and David lived up to your billing. To bad all final rounds are not like that one, what about those "hole shots", on a hot day like Saturday afternoon was they can be really tuff to over come. I only wished that we could have had our car there and if nothing else made some passes but it was not to be, we worked right up to Thursday trying to find and fix our problem but to no avail, maybe next year, I can't wait. Luckly BG finals are not to far off!! again congratulations to both Dan and David, also our local I-22 buddy Ron Lucus won the no box (foot brake) class congratulations to him and all the other winners, what a great way to spend a weekend!!!
