Sharing a few front end pics
We are building a lower cost lightweight ss car for a local guy and we thought we'd share a few front end pics we did for him. He is not using all trick pieces but we think we can still get it to less that 2750. (The driver weighs 330!)

Only 19.2lbs as it sits but the room created will allow us to mount everything up there besides the battery. The structural integrity alone is worth it. The driver side bar has a pull point built in it if you guys didn't notice.

We are going to do our car a little different but this piece was built with lengths that we had left over from other builds. It took an afternoon from cutting the old off to mounting the front end back on.

Cool, I saw that but wasn't sure what it was on the end of the tube. What size tubing did ya'll use on the build?

Thanks! It just may be a project over the winter months to shed some pounds off the front. I started a drawing in my Bend Tech Pro program to accommodate my motor-plate, I still have some more refining and measurements to do.

That looks pretty good. You are like a magician with that program. We thought about getting it but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

Bring it on up and we can knock it out on a Friday or Saturday.

Sure, why not... You're only 8 or so hours away...
Pretty tempting though. Most guys around here would want my left nut to do that...

Then you could run a race around here. 4 good tracks within a short drive

Thanks for the kind words, I don't know about the magician part though, LOL.
That is an interesting prospect, forward strut bars would have to extend further forward for me though to mount the motorplate to.jbozzelle wrote:Cool... Now cut it back off, jig it and make some more... I want one!
Re: Sharing a few front end pics
That's a good point. Also something to think about is the multiple locations of the cage within the car. Of course we could just make them long to allow for the differences in needs.

Shoot me a PM with what you think it would cost. I'm most likely headed to Dallas later this year to see some friends. I've got some 1.625 and 1.25 laying around too...
