Wtf with people having their dogs in the back of the truck while on the INTERSTATE!!! Saw this twice in Tennessee , once in georgia and once in Florida today. Not safe people. Why do these hill jack jockos think this is okay. Some of you know that I am heavily involved with dog rescue and training so you can see why irresponsible dog ownership fires me up. End of rant

the back of the truck is where my dog rides when i take him to the vet.he sleeps and eats outside too.i cant figure why people take their dogs some of the places they do.i work at home and i wish they'd all leave their dogs at home cuz my little shit eater goes nuts when they bring them. A properly trained dog will be just fine in the back of a truck. Mine ride back there all the time and I don't have any doubts that they are safe. Cool I used to have a border collie/blue healer that would not ride in the cab. He loved riding in the back though, and I had no worries about anything in that truck when he was in it. If you stuck a hand towards the truck, he would give a small warning bark. Let's say it wasn't pretty if you decided you wanted to push your luck. As far as kids, he would lick them to death. Around here, the dog rides in the back so the cows don't try to eat you when you go out in the pasture. When you pull in the pasture, the dog gets out first, keeps the cows away, then the cowboy can take care of business without any worries. Cool

Hell I couldn't let mine do that even if I wanted to, its really amazing how many idiots have already tried to steal an 80 lbs male pitbull and my 8 month old female thinks everyone wants to pet her.

No big deal around here our dogs got enough sense to ride on the front of a boat or in the back of a truck. They even jump in the lake in 10 - 15 degree weather and go get a dead duck if you tell them too. lol! you bunny huggin tree huggin animal right activist need to realize they are just dogs.

I agree. On the farm is one thing, on the freeway is quite another.

I rescued my dog at 3 months old and it's the best dog ever. Can't imagine days without him now, he is part of the family.

Our dog's are dumb enough too jump from a slow movin vehicle, but smart enough too stay put when we're on the freeway. It's common here, even the sheriff's K9 unit rides in the back of their F150's.
