Yea, the right amount of wheel speed (vs dead hooked) can sometimes have amazing results.

Dead-hooked real good + decent power/torque numbers + short wheelie bars can at times = the nose shooting for the moon, then falling right back to earth damn fast.

So, I decided to turn the wick up and see what she would run, stood straight up off the line, came down hit it again and stood straight up again. I have some issues to work out I know. It ran the 5.63/126 leaving at 3600 and shifting at 6300. It just won't take full hp right now. 499 Ford Tfs heads, 8 inch 5500 stall, in a 2350 chassis 4 link car. Blake the Snake Cartwright builds horsepower!!!!. Im gonna get this thing weighed out and the 4 link massaged and I believe she has 40s in her on Gas!

Thanks Blake

Where did you run at ? brainard or Crossville I40

Crossville

I was going to head that way , was there a lot of cars there?

Yeah, there was about 27-28 cars in 6.0 and another 20 or so in 7.0

and it dont take 20* to get it done either........5-7* pulled out and ramped back in real fast will do wonders to keep the nose down......
get the chassis working will go faster without pulling timing.if it wont stay on the ground at 1.28-1.32 it needs work...... Wink

Russ my car goes 1.20 - 1.23 most all the time @ 3000 lb. Your problem is your 60. It should be in the 1.16 - 1.18 range or quicker.

Do you have any movable ballast you can move to the nose, I didn't realize you were leaving soft on it, I thought the converter wasn't getting into the good part of the torque curve.

Your car is short and has a ton of engine set back. Just work on getting the chassis to work and your e.t. will come. Getting it on the scales this weekend will show you something.

I have the same problem on a good track, if I leave over 4000 mine heads for the sky...............

You just built me too much power, lol.

Yep my wheel base is 105 and the engine is set back. List about 70 lbs with the alum heads on the front.
