94-04 mustang front brake upgrade
Anybody ever used these calipers from ssbc?
I'm almost finished installing the mustang based strut frontend on my 67 f100.
after researching calipers, master cylinders and pedal ratio I found I need more caliper surface area to better whoa up my heavy truck. (surprizingly enough the 02 mustang dual piston calipers I intended to use have a good bit less surface are than the single piston f100 calipers I took off)
here's the link:

is there a better bolt on 4 piston caliper upgrade for the 94-04 mustang for less money?

What size front wheels do you have? The cheapest way used to be the cobra brake upgrade but you need 17" wheels to clear the 13" rotors.

If you look around fleebay you can pick stuff up for less $$ as well.

I have the 13" Cobra stuff on my '79 mustang. Got the calipers from Advance Auto for small money. The hardest part for me to track down was the caliper brackets. Parts stores have the same bracket listed for the GT and Cobra, but they are different. Spindles are the same for the GT and Cobra brakes.

whats special about the cobra calipers? I've got the pbr dual piston calipers already. from what I've found both pbr and cobras have the same 1.77" dual pistons, is that true?

The cobra calipers are made by PBR.
The next step could be the cobra R brakes but they are more chingola. Once again they can be had for much less than the kit price.

If I recall I paid about $750 for the two calipers from Vintagevenom.com and I bought the rotors of fleabay. Vintage venom had some really great tech support so you could call them and even if they can't help you out they might be able to point you in the right direction. The guy I talked to there was/ or is a Ford brake engineer and was very knowledgeable.
Edit: I just seen on their site they have 14" kits now...
