If you're spending money on a rotating assembly buy as big as you can and spend the other 400 or so and get a custom cam too...

Already have the custom cam... had it purchased before I knew there was so much damage done to my 501 when a lifter let go.

If you had the cam spec'ed to the 501 why change the combo? Won't be optimum if you go changing stuff.

X2 . The duration and LSA is more of a factor than the lift i.m.o.

If I build.. I was thinking around Around 12:5:1.. If I went with a 501/521. I want something that runs on C12. If I were to build a 545/557 I realize It would probably have to be higher??

A flat top piston in a 521" engine will put you near your comp. ratio target.
