Alright here is the final revision of the Powered By Ford Race 2013 rules (other than payouts possibly increasing)!!!

3 classes


a. 1 bracket class box vs. no box. No boxers get lane choice until they are eliminated or final round, $500 garaunteed payout for first place 2nd and 3rd based on entries. Sportsman tree 1/8 mile, $70 entry fee.


b. 10.5 tire class, 10.5 inch wide slick or 275 radial or bias ply tire, power adders allowed but only one ie; one turbo or one blower or one stage of nitrous. Heads up .400 Pro-tree 1/8 mile, $500 garaunteed payout for first place 2nd and 3rd place based on entries. $70 entry fee.


c. Run What Ya Brung class (door cars only), this will be the no holds barred heads up class. This class will be run 1/8 mile, heads up .400 Pro-tree. NO DELAY BOXES OR THROTTLE STOPS ALLOWED! Garaunteed $500 payout for first place 2nd and 3rd place based on entries.

I am thinking of moving the race to mid September to avoid some other major events. As of right now these are the payouts that I will garauntee personally for each class for the 2013 event, prizes may get larger with sponsorships.

How about instead of talking about rules for a race that's 13 months away, you figure out some basics.

You need at least 4 people who AREN'T racing to coordinate the event.

One person roaming attracting racers as they come in and answering general questions.

One person at a tent below , or near the tower registering racers answering question and providing a location for promotion of the event, posting qualifying results, and posting ladders preferably with a banner.

One person in the tower gathering and posting qualifying results, and later creating and posting the ladders.

One person in the lanes with the ladders lining up classes and pairings.

You need to do a early lock in to at minimum get a realistic idea of how many cars your going to have( not a pie in the sky number based on emails and phone calls).

If any heads up class doesn't have a minimum of 8 cars it's junk and not worth even having.

If you can't draw 32 cars in a bracket class there isn't enough interest in the event.

Start getting sponsors NOW instead of going backward. Get the dollars then start promoting classes so you can draw the racers. It's ok to have a general idea about classes, but your rules are going to change I guarantee it.

I'm not trying to be negative in the least, but unless you have some sort of organization, plan and an order in which to execute it you can work your ass off and 10 cars show up.
