Re: get your popcorn
I think you are confusing index racing with heads up Your 5.30 heads up is NOT heads up ...it's index racing. We were heads up at US43 with a limit on who could run...not the baddest guys on here ,just who got invitedrichter69 wrote:I have a killer bracket car sittin in the shop still winterized from last fall........ I've won a hell of a lot more money runnin heads up classes.......not that its been much lol. I will say I'm not much of a bracket racer as I cant stand doin it long enough to get decent.............never have.

Re: get your popcorn
your lucky you have them bars on that bird,it would'nt make it 330' without them.............56Tbird wrote:I haven't seen many forms of drag racing that I don't like watching..understanding what they are doing is a big part of it. Most people who don't like bracket racing don't understand it. I like the heads up stuff on little tires, but you need to do what you can afford to be competitive at is the way I look at it. It ain't no fun going home 1st round. Pro Mod's rank up there in my favorite cars to watch. But that's just what I dig I just can't afford to break stuff for the hell of it. I've won alot of bracket races and I still enjoy it, I like the index racing on pro tree too.Heads up stuff is cool ,but you gotta have a bad mofo to be in the hunt

Re: get your popcorn
You have tire envy. The reality is cars built to run on a big tire need to be run on a big tire, cars built to run on a small tire with big HP need to have a focus on power management. Cecil wasn't an anomaly, the MDRA race also had about 1/3 rd of the cars abort runs, it's entertaining for sure. The guys that get it figured out are wicked impressive, the guys that don't just look silly. And no not anybody can get a car down the track with bars.yellowhorse7 wrote:cool40 wrote:anyone cant make a car with bars work in 330'. you know better than most that electronics get the little tire down the track.yellowhorse7 wrote:bbf-falcon wrote:Don't get me wrong,I really watching those head up cars, Im w/Dan and Randy though, why not put Wheelie(safety)bars on them and actually watch both cars race to the finish line. Those guys DO NOT have a clue if they are gonna make it to the end w/o wrecking or getting out of it. It's like wipping your ass before you take a shit,It just don't make good sense.
Because anyone, and I mean anyone, can make a car with bars work in the first 330. These guys (most of them) know plenty well what they are doing. It ain't easy to make a RADIAL car with the better part of 1300 hp get down the track. It's the thrill of the hunt.....
The Cecil event was an anomolly.....those guys typically don't wreck or have the issues seen in the videos that have been posted as of late. Carry on
We can agree to disagree on the bar discussion. You are correct with the electronics though....Powergrids and progressives are wonderful things. But if you think it's the electronics that get the cars down the track and the suspension and chassis setup play little part, you sir are mistaken. Not trying to put words in your mouth but this is how I read it.
I will say this to the people that bitch about the electronics....don't hate the player.....hate the Perverbial game. They are part of it, like it or not. I would love to see some rule editing regarding the electronics. It would force the big tired car guys that hate on the radial stuff to find another conspiracy
Re: get your popcorn
When were electronics on any car easy? Shit most here can't keep the family truckster running let alone 1500-2000hp down a race track with electronics.....most here have grown up and learned the ways of big tires and wheelie bars....nothing wrong with that....just don't say how stupid small tire racing is.....if you can't afford or don't feel safe...just don't do it.....

Re: get your popcorn
No tire envy here and you know that......
I should have said that MOST anyone who has chosen to build/own a big tired car can get a big tire car down the track, simply for the fact that it is easier as compared to a small tire car. Very rarely do you see a pro mod, TS or PS car blow the tires off. But that isn't the point of this discussion
Byron needs to learn how to prep that track for the radial guys. They didn't have much of an issue at Da Grove nor do they have any issues here @ Lakeland or OSW. The video was entertaining, that's for sure

Re: get your popcorn
Sounds like Nascar or Chebbie guys running that show!! You get your Ford to where you can be real competitive ....then they change the rules!! Good Luck Fabio ,I hope after all your labor and money and hard work you can hang tough with them!richter69 wrote:56Tbird wrote:I think you are confusing index racing with heads up Your 5.30 heads up is NOT heads up ...it's index racing. We were heads up at US43 with a limit on who could run...not the baddest guys on here ,just who got invitedrichter69 wrote:I have a killer bracket car sittin in the shop still winterized from last fall........
