carb problems
What i got going on is 545 10-1 comp,429-460 trick flows, eddy torque 2,small 700's lift cam solid roller, eddy 750 carb. OK so the problem is went to a 850 demon 78's in front 80's in the rear, new power valve. The car is smoking like crazy even tried buddy's 850 holley that came off is car and it's still smoking. This motor does not smoke with the eddy 750 but it should be able to handle the bigger carb,I'm stumped any help would greatly be appreciated. Dave

Re: carb problems
Did you put in the correct size PV? You didn't list cam specs but with that lift I suspect you have very little vacuum. Is your PV a 4.5 or lower?
Maybe your Buddies carb has 6.5 or larger PV too. Just not right for your combo. The jets sound kinda small too. IMO.

Re: carb problems
Could your fuel pressure be too high and overpowering the needle/seat?
Weird that the carb works okay on your Buddy's car and floods yours. Assumning it has a choke, is it opening?!
Could motor just be loaded up from first carb, making you think your Buddy's carb is acting up to?

If the fuel pressure wasn't too much for the Edeljunk, it's not too much for the Holley. What do the plugs look like? What heat range? Type?
