torque converter
I have a question about converters, my car has a dove headed 1971 429 with 10.5 .1 compression,360/480 engine,stock cam, edelbock performer 460 intake ,holley 750 dp carb and a c6 trans its a heavy car with a high rear gear an runs down the road good but has absolutely no bottom end timmin is correct seems to be in tune but for some reason no low end i had a car like this in the past and it had lots of torque an low end but this one has none . I was told by a local mechanic the it may be the converter is this possible any ideas ? THANKS

Sounds like the timing chain set is a post 72 with the cam timing retarded. Has it been rebuilt lately or a new timing set installed?
If it has look at it and see if the key way in the bottom gear is cut directly below the dot and tooth. key way aligned with the cam pin.
