I like the Sonoco stuff, mainly because I can get it by the sealed from Sonoco 5 gallon cans. The VP stuff is from a pump and I never know how long it's been there.

Renegade 110... IMO, it works better than the VP fuels I've tried, and definitely priced better, @ $355.00/55gals...

How long does this stuff stay good for when you open and close the drum on a regular basis or not regular basis? I kind of thought about getting a drum but just don't know if I would use it all in a season being I'm a part time weekend warrior

Re: race fuel ??
I've always been told that the effectiveness of the added octane will sort of drop off over time when the fuel is opened to the air. Not sure how true that is, but to keep on the safe side I try to get my fuel at 5 gallons at a shot. Then again, the people that told me that are the same place I get my sealed cans from, so they could be blowing smoke for all I know.....

I run the Sunoco 112.$7.00 a gallon. Dealer said it was good to 15.1 comp. The main thing w/race fuel is keep it in a cool place and out of the sun light. JMO

X2 Direct sunlight will cause the fuel to deteriorate and or breakdown... That's what I was told by my distributor, so while I'm at the track I store my jugs under my Super Duty...

I've run Sunoco 112 & 110 and didn't see any differences. I went with 112 on hot days..

Sunoco 110 or 112 in my car. The last few years, I just buy it at the track, 5 or 10 gallons at a time. The price is much different than buying it in bulk.

Hey Doug how do you like the renagade fuel. I can buy it here too. You are the only one I have seen run it except these roundy round dirt track clowns out here.

I have been running the Renegade 110 all year with no complaints....out of the pump it is $6.39/Gal.Tennessee Bullitt wrote:Hey Doug how do you like the renagade fuel. I can buy it here too. You are the only one I have seen run it except these roundy round dirt track clowns out here.
I must admit...it has been in a brand x I've been driving, until I get the Yellow Car going again....But, it has been good fuel.

I've been using the Renegade 112 in my 557 A-Head with no problems. I've used Sunoco, Torco and VP. The Renegade seems as good as any of them.

Racing gasoline is supposed to have a shelf life of about 1 year in a sealed container. This is about 4 times as long as regular street gasoline.

Re: race fuel ??
I have been using the renagade for five years, no problem, what you want to do once in a while, about every two weeks is squirt some wd-40 in the air jets, do this while running about 1500 rpm's, cleans the blue dye out of the carb.

Thanks Dave, I don't mean to be "anal" but a sealed container meaning never opened? How bout a 55 gal drum opened several times throughout the year? Good idea or bad idea

I can't get it in the pump here, but X2 on the quality... I've used it the last 2 seasons without a complaint... It's a true 110 fuel also, with a motor octane level of 109-109.5... It's rated to 15:1 C/R and I know alot of guys at our tracks use it with no complaints...

Re: race fuel ??
As long as you seal the drum back up tightly after you fill your jug I can't see it being any problem.

Re: race fuel ??
So are you guys keeping your drums in temperature controlled garages then? Would it still be good if I stored the drum in my non temperature controlled garage through the hot summer and cold winter months?
