Sad News
I heard the Jack Austin Mustang blew a engine at Ohio Valley's Top Sportsman race over the weekend. I hate that, he was about the one and only Ford around here that could run Top Sportsman.I'm sure it'll be back even badder next time!!

Why is it that? The only ford that could run top-sportsman? or is that in your area?

The rods were not the the issue...
Re: Sad News
The issue was me, my mistake and of course I'm sorry. I had made some UHMW (white nylon) runner extensions and had bolted and glued them inside the plenum. A piece of one broke off and went down the intake port and wedged/hung the intake valve open. The engine is in the bed of my truck right now and it's hurt,,, but not blown up with rods hanging out of it. I imagine that we have bent a couple of valves and probably beat up the top of the piston when it came up and hit the valve that was stuck open.
I took one of my spare engines over to Mark's tonight and we spent the evening getting it ready to put in Jack's car. Mark plans on being at Silver Dollar Raceway in Reynolds GA this coming weekend for the Division 2 Finals Points Race. He'll be running in Top Sportsman as usual.

Dan,
Speaking for Jack, Mark, Lawes and myself, we all thank you for the kind words. Because Mark is running for points, we especially want to give a shout out to your fellow Hancock County native, Mr. Barry Moffitt who let Mark jump in his car and drive it on Sunday.
