Smallest or cheapest? Empty Smallest or cheapest?

Post  David Cole October 14th 2012, 2:44 pm

What's the smallest or cheapest thing that has knocked you out of a race? Just curious lol.

Last night.....mine was a #12 X 3/8" long bolt.

Happened to be the bolt that held the wire terminal on the solenoid jumper wire for my mini-starter.
Came loose......I was in staging for round 3. Hit the starter button....barely tried to turn over then the dreaded click click of the solenoid. Thought it was a dead battery. Back in the pits found the wire but it was already too late. The wire was just laying there and was arcing enough to try and make the starter spin.

The little plastic piece that holds the throttle cable into the pedal Sad

With all the stupid issues with the damn throttle cable it got the boot and now have a 1/4" rod with heim joints on both ends.

Drain valve was open on the radiator catch can. They backed me off the starting line for a water drip.

There was no good news here the hood lifed as soon as I hit the throttle,I lifted. the hood went up and some how forward a little bit,did a flip like one of those paper air planes made to come back to you.Hit my car dead in the center of the windshield, shattered it.Bounced up landed on the roof scratched it all up slid down the back glass broke a piece off my deck lid.slid off the back of the spoiler and landed upside down. It was ugly!
