Engine would a stroked 351 Cleveland with a supercharger and an AOD, of course .
A friend of mine has a '36 Ford with a 292 "Y" block. It has an intake manifold with 4 two barrels on it.
Because of the exhaust layout and distributor location, a lot of unknowing people mistake it for a small block Chevrolet and it will get him so Pi_sed Off.

If my budget could afford a street rod,my choice would be a NEW 5.0 w/supercharger OR EFI ,or maybe a Coyote,in a decked out 40/41 Willy's . Dreams,Dreams

46-48 coupe, with a new fuel injected 302, like what Dan and I saw at Bowling Green, what a dream.

I get the same thing with my 1957 Fairlane with a 312 Thunderbird Special. I have to remind them that it is all Ford and original to the car.

Thanks for the heads up Randy. I talked to the guy and he said it was a 350 crate motor. It was still a pretty sweet ride, though .

If it's an open hood type, light weight street rod where the engine is visible it would have to be be a 302 or 351 with a modern Kinsler EFI stack injection.
Re: Something to ponder.....
Efi stack injection is cool.

For a nice fast cruiser, I would buy a 1997 or 1998 Lincoln MK IIIV,
Use everything possible from the Mark. The 4.6 4 cam is a great mill.
Every time I look under my '97 Mark I ponder the IRS all polished up under a 32 Ford...
The engine is clean looking with no plug wires.
The other end of the spectrum would be the use of an A headed 605 or 652 with a stick.
