522 with dyno.Any positive or negative comments welcome.
1973 stock block, forged eagle 4.3 crank and rods,Comp roller 727 lift, victor 4500, 1 inch spacer, holley ultra 1050,je pistons 13:6-1,OLD a429 heads bought in 1994 ported, 2.22 in,177 ex, 2 inch primary headers. I have heard installing a vacuum pump may get me 20 more hp. Also a (HVC) spacer would make more also. Any suggestions???

Re: 522 with dyno.Any positive or negative comments welcome.
Long story on the heads..Try to make it short and sweet. Heads were first sent off to be worked. Came back with 2.25 intakes and 1.80 exhaust. All I have is 348 at 7 and 219. The numbers were scribbled on a card and that was back in 1994. The shop that did them has closed up now. Anyway......2.25 and 1.80's ended up touching each other at 6700 rpm and boom! Broke exhaust valve head off..hole in cylinder..smashed up head..broken piston and 2 damaged rods... Been a long road to get back.

I'm no engine builder all I can say it appears to be good. Your torque and hp #'s are close to my 528. Good job
Read through my build https://www.429-460.com/t4799-my-build-my-fox-transformationlotsa-pics see page 6 for my dyno numbers and compare if you'd like.

Theirs a whole lot of power in updating your porting and valve job.
And the cam is a little off for today's thinking.

Im sure re doing the heads and changing the cam would yield more power, but it looks prettygood Id toss it in the car and go have fun...... there is always another build........

I'm really wanting an A460 setup but wanting to wait until I can get rid of shock towers.Maybe this winter. How would everybody (redo) the heads?? Engine builder is a BBC guy for the most...next will come from Kentucky ??? I believe from what I've seen on here.richter69 wrote:Im sure re doing the heads and changing the cam would yield more power, but it looks prettygood Id toss it in the car and go have fun...... there is always another build........

1970 mustang with ladders bars. 315 radials, 4:11 rear and 1.80 powerglide. Weight was 3410 with me in it. I have removed back seat, rear package tray. Hoping I removed at least 60 lbs. Last et was 10.33@133. That was not a maxed out run. Any ideas on new et?

Damn, I was hoping for a 9.70 but we still have some small issues that may get us there. fuel.front shocks........Still seems slow to me. BOOORRRRIINNNGGG! Ineed more!!!!!

Re: 522 with dyno.Any positive or negative comments welcome.
Thanks. 20 year old front shocks kept the front end up the whole way down the track. Tried 90/10 and 60/40 and no difference. I am hoping to go ahead and put a mustang2 front end under it and get rid of the shock towers. Hopefully loose some weight there. A spacer and evac pump will pick me up some more.nitrous.f wrote:man we have the same motors to the t! just mines going in a 93 coupe mustang! this is a good example of what i will be doing in my car! keep at it and lose some weight and it will easy get 9.70 out of it!

IMO the must II stuff is more of a street rod deal, the travel is real short.........If your gonna spend the coin get a strut front end set up and be ahead of the game.

Re: 522 with dyno.Any positive or negative comments welcome.
I've been debating that. I see some nice kits out there to do it. I also have a guy that can do it from scratch. I'll talk to him after hunting season is over Jan. 5th.richter69 wrote:70FB wrote:Thanks. 20 year old front shocks kept the front end up the whole way down the track.
