Re: 1BAD521 take a look
Why not just build another truck??
Bodys are cheap enough. Kind of a waste of prior time and money too IMO.
Would be a great toy for the boy..... Or sell as a roller. Late model F-150's are really cool, and good aero too. JMO,AGAIN

Re: 1BAD521 take a look
Well, I do know that he was there during the development of the SR-71 Blackbird... I could tell you a couple stories about the 'Bird... But the best stories he ever told, was when he would drive his 63 Galaxie with a 406 & Tri-Power, back and forth from Vegas where he lived... He would tell of the days when his work compadres would try and buffalo him with their 409 2x4 powered Impala's, and when they would race back to Vegas, not only could he pants-down spank those Impala's, but they would run out of gas before they got to Boulder City... He said he could run the old Galaxie up about 110-115 mph and back her off and run on the center carb, and those guys with the Impala's would have to run on all 8 bores to run at that speed...
Or, he would tell of a day in I believe 1974 that the 'Bird took flight, in which it set the World Record from New York to London in (IIRC) 1hr. 54 min. INCLUDING, slowing down enough to get 1 re-fuel from a KC-135 tanker...
Then, on their return they thought they could better themselves, and set another record from London to Los Angeles in something like 3 hrs. 47 min. They had to slow an additional time for fuel, plus had to slow down considerably over major cities due to window damage from the sonic booms... I don't remeber which flight it was, but Malmstrom AFB here in Great Falls, Montana clocked the Blackbird sometime after those 2 flights, crossing the state of Montana @ 80,000' in just 14 seconds... About 600 miles...
The SR-71 had only 1 SAM defense system, anyone know what it was...?

Yeah, my Gramps told me it was impossible to shoot it down, because all they had to do was give 'er a little more throttle...

Re: 1BAD521 take a look
The SR-71 is a very cool plane. I never realized how large it was until I seen the one on display at the SAC museum near Omaha. First thing you see hanging from the ceiling when you enter the building. Very cool indeed It's a shame they no longer fly them, although I believe NASA still has one or two.

Then there's the X-43A Hypersonic Aircraft... In 2004, it set an all-time record of Mach 9.6... That's almost 7000 mph...!

Re: 1BAD521 take a look
That's what makes me laugh about all the UFO stuff. The "ultra high tech" planes WE KNOW ABOUT we designed and built in the 60's. Just what do they suppose they have now?? I'm sure all those engineers haven't been sitting on their hands.
Soooo, anyway........ just what Doug and Jason are up to sounds like it will remain a national secret for a while yet!!!
