Ok. Thanks for the info. I got my cam man on the phone right now. The best 60ft my car has had on the old set up is 1.24 on the back tire

Ok guys i called my cam guy back hes going to send it back. Just like yall are saying with the extra stroke and cubes it should like that cam the way it is.

your converter is too loose for the juice there snake............you tighten it up and you wont have to leave so soft with it....................and its more of a bumper remover deal lol.

between the two you should have plenty of adjustability w the deal. I dont kill mine a whole lot at the hit, its a fine line for sure...........our track has always been pretty crappy but we have new managment now and since they took over its been a learning curve for sure.

The conveter is a ptc 9.5 and it is pretty tight. It rans 6.08 at 115 with the 521 with 4.30 gears and i put the 3.73 in to calm it down on the nos and it went a 5.45@131

That's true , but to tighten it enough to get below the majority of the torque to calm it down, it would be way too tight on the engine, and that's where I run it most of the time.

Well the converter when i first got choked the 521 down so i loosened it up a little. But what do i need to do to my heads

The new engine will loosen the converter even more , just run it and see where it stalls. The heads are good out of the box. Just inspect them good and install them.

Ok i will me and my dad trying to figure out what we are doing wrong. I guess that cam in my 521 was just wrong and had me off

16-20° spread on a 114° LC and good pushrods.

Check the castings around the threaded holes. Mine had a little bit of loose material that I knocked off with a small rat tail file. Other than that they were good to go...

Here lately the engines coming in my shop all are showing valve float.
