Get some wedge shims for the perches on the springs.

Dave, a '79 isn't a leaf spring deal. I'd think adjustable control arms or relocating the brackets would be the ticket.

The rear suspension in trailing arms and coil springs ... the rearend that is in the car now is a 94 gt mustang...

You went too new, the 94 chasis change moved the mounting points, SN95 chasis versus FOX. Adjustable uppers to roll the pinion back up.

The mounting points should be the same. The rear axle assembly got wider in 94 although the axle housing was the same. In 99 the housing and the axle assembly got wider.
To the OP, adjustable upper will probably get the pinion angle where you need it. Get the sperical bearing stuff, the poly stuff will bind up.

fwiw I like the spherical on one end, poly on the other. with both ends spherical it seemed the body rocked side to side. but then I am not normal anyway. bobn

Re: rear axle swap and pinion angle
You will need some aftermarket arms to adjust the pinion angle. Most people go with adjustable uppers.
