Trick Flow "Mafia" intake manifold listing
Why is this manifold listed in the Summit catalog and on the Trick Flow website as being for use with A460 heads...?
Re: Trick Flow "Mafia" intake manifold listing
Randy,
They DON"T list it as an A-460 manifold. You're misreading the headings.
1. They list Trick Flow intake manifolds pg. 32.
2. The two sub-headings are; Track Heat (4150 Series carb flange),,,,,,and R-Series (4500 Series Dominator flange).
3. Under the Track Heat heading, they list a toal of four manifolds. They are for the 315C,,, 351W Clevor,,, 351W Clevor tall,,, and 429-460 TFS Power Port 290 or 325 cc heads or OE cast iron.
4. Under the R-Series heading, they list a total of three manifolds. They are for the Chevy 396-454 (6.55" tall),,, the Ford 429-460 (6.9" tall); note this is the Mafia intake,,, and the Ford 429-460 TFS A-460 heads 340-355 cc (8.6" tall); note the 6.55" tall for the TFS A-460 heads is a typo error.
Hope this helps,
Charlie
P.S. There's a cylinder head coming your way, it went out Thursday.

Re: Trick Flow "Mafia" intake manifold listing
I agree, they have the web site totally mixed up. The first one they list should not have the words "A-460" in the ad. It's the Mafia intake. I wish they would just go ahead and officially call it the Mafia intake. If you call and order it, they do know the nickname "Mafia" though. Of course Lem generally has them on the shelf at B F Evans.

Re: Trick Flow "Mafia" intake manifold listing
I quote from their description ... "Made to fit Trick Flow Power Port Race A460 big block Ford cylinder heads"
Charlie ,,, how do you misread that statement...?
I'll also quote from their NOTES ... "Designed for use with Trick Flow 429/460 aluminum cylinder heads ONLY"
All in the same listing.
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/tfs-53400112
The TFS website says the same thing...

Re: Trick Flow "Mafia" intake manifold listing
I agree Randy, the web site is all screwed up. I was reading from pg. 32 of the printed catalog, (latest edition). The end result is they give conflicting information. For those that are confused, just order a Mafia intake from Lem, he knows the TFS products very well.

I recieved this e-mail this morning from Tfs. Greg was having trouble getting it to post. The Fine folks of TFS watch this site believe it or not and will answer any questions anyone might have. Thanks

Let's not forget that TFS is one of our best sources for performance parts for the BBF too, and that they are about the only manufacturer that take any interest in this engine platform.

Phillip,
I tried calling that phone number at least 20 times, (no exaggeration), to get only a busy signal or answering machine every time ... then sent an email to them and got no reply so, I figured there might be some kind of response if I posted on line in a public forum about it.
At least some of the the public would know that there IS a mistake and to disregard it.
If they don't want things like this posted on a forum then they should answer their phone or reply to an email. Their indignation has no credence.
