latest track outing 8.71 @ 156
Here is a short vid I put together on my last track outing yesterday (Feb 9th). Just testing for a race coming up. Some cool launches filmed at 120 fps. Any ideas on the anti roll bar adjustment? Should I tighten up (increase preload) on the drivers side?? The current adjustment is neutral.

Lengthen the PASSENGER link 1/4 turn and test.
1/4-1/2 turns can add as much as 40 lbs to the corner weights, so small is good here

I jacked my right front wheel up 1" ,then set it at neutral.Paul ,Ithink you need some pre-load in your suspension too. The anti-roll should just keep it level,it's pulling right pretty hard.Let the chassis guru's chime in here,I may be wrong?? Good runs though, but looks like it could use a few flats put in it

yep 1 flat at a time. You'll get there. Congrats on the passes.yellowhorse7 wrote:psfracer wrote:Yeah I need to adjust the anti roll bar, its neutral right now.

Did the left lane passes move to the right less than the right lane passes the whole day? Or was that one right lane pass the only one that moved that hard to the right? Either way like Tony said add just a little pass. side preload at a time. Better to sneak up on the preload little by little vs taking a big swing at it all at once.
With the current neutral setting does it drive perfectly straight on the top end before & after the finish line?
Car sounds damn nice.

Check roll out on your tires, the harder you leave the more important your roll out will become.

Thanks for the comments / ideas. I think the easiest for me would be to jack up the driver front and set it neutral?
Once out of the hole, the car does drive straight. You can see that in the rear facing camera clip in the video. No doubt the ARB needs adjustment, but I also think that when the car makes a move like that--its a result of me not lining up the car right at the start line. Because sometimes its straight as an arrow. Other times it makes that move towards the right. I will check the rollout also just to make sure as its easy to do and another thing I can eliminate from the equation.

A. Rollout will probably be fine. Good to double check though
B. I did notice from your vids that it doesn't always move right, so I'd start slow
C. Don't jack up anything. Put the car at race weight (including you) and leave it on the ground. Follow my previous advice. Stage it straight and proceed to whip ass.

What does it mean when the rear of the car moves to the left during a burnout? The car always does that. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but the rear of the car always wants to move to the left during the burnout.
Perhaps the rearend is just off a bit from being square? I think I will check the LCAs and the distance while I am at it.

If the back end of the car moves/swings to the left during the burnout (which in turn also points the nose to the right) thats another example of how sometimes the burnout can be a usefull tool to show what direction the launch might go as well. And the same thing Tony told you to try to straighten out the launch could also straighten out the burnout.psfracer wrote:What does it mean when the rear of the car moves to the left during a burnout? You can check the rear housing to see if it's in the car square or crooked (possibly causing some rear steer) if you want to. But if you're not having to fight the steering wheel down track it could be in there fairly straight as it is. And even if you do happen to find it's off square a very small amount, you can still try doing what Tony said just to see what happens.
If you find it's way out of square, and you correct/adjust for it now, you might have to throw out what you learned from this last test outing and start from scratch on the preload settings.

Not sure on the newer bodies like yours but the old foxes.....rear was never perfectly square from the factory. Check it just in case. Also, remember the basics....usually when the rear end starts moving around during the burnout, it means there isnt enough wheel speed. Or the rollout is staggered
What did the car 60?

I think the wheel speed should be good, as I have a power glide and almost immediately shift from 1st to 2nd and bring it to 7000 rpm.
Car only 60' a 1.311. In the slo mo footage you can see it spinning a little out of the hole. It has gone a 1.289 last time out. If you watch the slo mo clips you can see how it leaves. Front suspension (shocks/springs) is all stock. Strange rear coil overs and double adjustable shocks.

57.
I better check the roll out, as I just remembered after a couple days of racing, I had to replace one (after 6 passes or so) because of damage. So that would mean the newer one has 51 passes.

Re: latest track outing 8.71 @ 156
Ok, I am switching out to new slicks, but I thought I would check the rollout anyway on the old ones just to see.
5 complete revolutions, they were off by 1 inch exactly. Checked twice, came up with the same result after 5 complete revolutions. Is this alot for a 29.5X10.5 slick? I don't think so, but thought I would ask anyway.

Re: latest track outing 8.71 @ 156
Well, after switching out to a new pair of slicks, I checked the rollout again, and they are basically exact after 5 revolutions.
I adjusted the roll bar also, will see what difference this makes at the track in 2 weekends.

I'm looking forward to the results. Love that car.
