Man said it came out of a Chevy II Nova with a 4 Banger? This trans is not good for me right ?
I.might has well.get a BTE one built for 850 bucks ready to go.
What's the differences and PG 's. 4,6,8 cylinders?

Re: i found a power glide?
Being in that car it's most likely a 1.82 first gear. The stock 1.82 uses a cheaper stamped carrier (1.76 ratio is stronger and has a forged carrier). The 1.82 has no place behind the torque of a bbf. It might live for a while in a small block car on street tires.
Being in a Chevy !! it may even be air cooled. If it has large cooling holes in the bell it is.
To use it you would need to build it and add:
stronger planetary
transbrake
steel clutch hub
input shaft
servo
rebuild kit
possibly pump gears or new pump
You would be far better off in time and money to get the BTE bracket glide you mentioned.
BTW, to check if a stock glide is a 1.82 (weak) or 1.76 (strong) gear set:
Measure the input or output shaft:
1.82 is 12 5/8" long, output shaft is 1.145" diamter
1.76 is 12 7/8", output shaft is 1.170" diameter

That is good info I have two stock case glides that are both supposedly out of big block chevelles.

I thought this as well Rick, until I picked up a glide from a factory 67 Chevelle... Don't know if it was ordered that way or not, but it was all factory... 'Bout made a local trans shop guy cry when I told him I cut the bellhousing off...

I can't say that I have ever owned a chevy Vehicle , but I have owned a few Chrysler ,Plymouth, and Dodge vehicles and worked on a lot of both of brands! If I did decide to ever own a chevy it be a 67 SS 327 4 speed Nova.

Re: i found a power glide?
Rick I talked to the guy I bought the trannies from and even checked out the car and build sheet and was definitely factory big block with a glide. When he went to have the engine bored it had so much core shift it wouldn't take .030" overbore so he replaced it with a 500 Caddy and turbo 400.
