West of San Antonio the skies were not looking good. We got some heavy mist but that was it.
We had flight delays getting to Cali, then it took an extra day to get everything squared away. Then work called Friday saying I needed to be in Ohio Tuesday morning. Ha, we left Oakland Ca Saturday at 4:30 drove to Palm Springs Ca and spend the night with some friends. North of Los Angeles we went through a pass at 4400' elevation and it was cold as chit. Lisa was just shaking in the passenger seat. Sunday had a late start leaving at 10:30. We hauled ass through Nevada and NM anywhere from 80-100 mph and the car road sooooo nice. Mileage seemed to drop to 12-15 mpg above 90. lol. We made it to Van Horn, West Tx that day about 02:00 in the morning. We slept 4 hours at a hotel and left for home at 6:30. We rolled in exhausted at 8:30 pm Monday night. Unpacked put the car away and went to bed. Got up at 4am and headed to the airport.

The previous owner said it got 22 with 3.73 gears but he had since changed them to 3.55's. I'm sure it would be pretty decent if we slowed down some. It seems to run cold around 170 and I wonder if it is still in enrichment mode. I never did ask if it is chipped to get around the key lock crap or how that all worked out.

The color is a Molten Magma Candy orange with silver stripes. I think it is a PPG color but I could be wrong. It was painted by a guy named Ken Pike in Ca. He specializes in fiberglass cars etc. That is all I know.

Thank you to everyone for all the complements. Lisa is looking forward to going to BG this fall so hopefully it will all work out. Of course I know she is going to want to drive but i like staying at the track in my trailer.

Very cool car i always thought it would be cool to build one of those,is that a Factory Five Car?
Later Mark.
Yes it is Mark. It is a Mk III. I wanted a MK IV but for the amount of money he had in this car for what he wanted was a good deal for me. Plus Lisa loves everything about the car and she will probably drive it more than me anyways. You can buy blue and silver/grey ones all over but this one stands out in a crowd that's for sure.
Very cool car i thought it was a Factory Five car but wasn't sure.
Later Mark.
