Scat 4340 cranks - what RPM do you turn?
Just wondering what sort of RPM you spin your 4340 cranks to. I have a 4.5" here ready to go into a new engine and curious what guys are spinning them to.

Had my 4.300" to 7800 couple times in my 523 expiementing with shift points. 7400 was best with that deal for me.

4.3, been 7900 a time or two, goes 7600 on a regular basis.
rpm would matter more about the valvetrain than the crank IMO

To answer your ?.imo a Scat 4340 will be fine in the mid 7k range for quite a few passes, but anything higher than that (8k or higher) for a substantial duration,I would go a custom billet piece.jmo

8000+ rpm, pulling truck app. Not sayin its wise but its done on a regular basis. Hell, we were going 7500-8000 with the cast scats. Ya do what ya can with what ya got sometimes even if It's risky.

The truck pull guys are king when it comes to the rpm thing

A short stroke BBF 4340 crank wont be your problem when turning high rpm, but everything tied to it may be suspect...............
